Painting with brushes made out of grass, flowers and branches
Age-appropriate: 2+ years
Early Years Foundation Stage: expressive arts and design
Skills trained: being imaginative, exploring, creating and experimenting
Summer and spring are the seasons of wild flowers blooming all over. At Big Ben Kids our teachers prepared a nature painting activity. The teachers discussed the different flowers and plant and let the children engage in making brushes from the materials used. Children could express themselves while painting with brushes made out of grass, flowers and branches. Painting with these brushes is a fun way for children to explore art, as well as the world around them. It is a very different way of expressive art than the normal toddler or preschooler crafts. Instead of making a project with an end point in mind it allows children to explore techniques, get creative and enjoy the freedom to just do art for fun.
