Our childcare location in The Hague/Scheveningen

Our Scheveningen location is housed in a large, elegant building, which was built in 1899. It is light and bright with purpose-designed rooms for each age group. We offer a genuine personal touch and think of our childcare as one big family.

Babies receive one-on-one attention from our team. Our childcare practitioners work with a small number of babies allowing them to respond quickly to the needs of each baby. We prepare children for primary school in a playful and educational way. Mornings consist of a structured pre-school programme with less organised activities in the afternoon. Children can expand their horizons by learning about time, days of the week, colours and so much more. We have a beautiful garden to play in, babies have a sensory balcony and the Scheveningse bosjes (park) and beaches are close by. Other activities include music and swimming lessons.

Practical Information

The childcare centre is open 52 weeks per year on Monday to Friday. Big Ben Kids The Hague/Scheveningen only closes during Dutch bank holidays.

Children from 4-12 years, who attend various schools in The Hague come to our after school care programme. To support busy parents, we have many additional activities. We offer physical, musical, general interest and creative activities to build young minds and bodies.

Swimming and our sporting activities helps children release energy in a fun and positive way, while various adventurous outdoor pursuits in The Hague and surroundings allow them to enjoy nature. Music-based activities and workshops stimulate brain function and can increase IQ.

To stimulate creativity, we offer ‘fun with food’ and ‘arts and crafts’. Children of all ages can bake, cook, learn about healthy eating and create art while experiencing different materials and techniques.

Practical Information

The childcare centre is open 52 weeks per year on Monday to Friday. Big Ben Kids The Hague/Scheveningen only closes during Dutch bank holidays.

After school care opening hours are from 15:00 to 18:30 on Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri and from 12:00 to 18:30 on Wed. During school holiday weeks the opening hours are from 7:30 to 18:30 (11 hours) daily.
