Big Ben Kids after school care at Schoolstraat in Wassenaar is for children from 4 years +. Our approach is to make all children feel at home. We give them space to relax or run around in our fully equipped gymnasium and offer a range of activities to keep them happy and stimulated.
To support busy parents, we have many additional activities, both physical, musical, general interest and creative, to build young minds and bodies. Piano lessons or art workshops help children release energy in a fun and positive way, while various fun outdoor pursuits in Wassenaar and surroundings allow them to enjoy nature. Music-based activities such as violin, piano or guitar lessons stimulate brain function and can increase IQ.
To stimulate creativity, we offer ‘fun with food’ and ‘arts and crafts’. Children of all ages can bake, cook, learn about healthy eating and create art while experiencing different materials and techniques.

Opening hours
The childcare centre is open 52 weeks per year on Monday to Friday. Big Ben Kids Wassenaar only closes during Dutch bank holidays.
After school care opening hours are from 15:00 to 18:30 on Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri and from 11:45 to 18:30 on Wed. During school holiday weeks the opening ours are from 7:30 to 18:30 (11 hours) daily.

“My two older children attend the "holiday" camps at Big Ben which is a daycamp put on by the daycare for older kids who are out of school for fall break or summer break, etc. My children love going to Big Ben camp. The programming is always spot on, they take the kids to playgrounds, the beach, museums, and do programming at the main building as well. My kids have made amazing friendships and the teachers/staff are the best. I would highly recommend Big Ben to anyone who needs childcare in Wassenaar.”
“Big Ben kids is a really great place for kids!!! My daughter loves going there,she turns to English so fast, after being there only 2 times per week, even our family is not English speaking. She loves kindergarten and everyday learning something new. She is taking lots of ideas from teachers and bringing them home,continue doing some activities with pleasure. They always playing outside in different weather, which I find very nice , they have enough fresh air and learning also about snow, water, sun etc. It's amazing how many different things they are making on a playground, playing and learning at the same time!!! And also is a very safe place!!! I am very thankful for all people who working there with children!!!!”

“Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for childcare for their child. We moved to the Netherlands from the UK and enrolled our daughter at Big Ben. The nursery was so similar to what she was used to in the UK and she loved it from day 1. This was a great comfort to us as it made it easy to drop her off and see her having fun whilst we carried on working and adjusted to a new country. The staff are brilliant and friendly and it's easy to use the online system to check-in on what your child has been up to or book extra days attendance when needed. How can I apply for childcare allowance from the Dutch Tax Office (Belastingdienst) and how much would it be?
Can I have a contract with several Big Ben Kids locations?
Yes, you can have a contract for your child to attend multiple Big Ben Kids locations. Please note: different rates may apply.
Can I register for a limited time only, e.g. two months?
Yes, that is possible, we will always welcome you.
Can I change to longer or shorter after school care contracts?
Changes in contract can be done at any time of the year and will be subject to the contracts offered per location. Please be aware that a 46-week contract also has a 12-month invoicing period similar to a 52-week contract. In all cases, a one month cancellation period is valid.
Do I have to pay extra for the pick-up service you offer?
The pick-up service from the dedicated schools is part of our service to you.
